The Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope is a NASA spacecraft. It is in space studying the most powerful sources of radiation in the universe. Radiation is energy that is in the form of light or of moving particles that are smaller than atoms. The most extreme type of radiation is gamma rays.Fermi questions are named after Enrico Fermi, a physicist who is known for solving these types of questions. In Science Olympiad, answers to Fermi questions are given in powers of ten.The FSSC has created a Docker container pre-loaded with many of the necessary tools required to do Fermi Analysis.
